Supply List (please label all your supplies including your pattern). All supplies available at Where We Create.
Please prep your pieces before class, meaning fuse interfacing to all eight pieces and have them cut to size listed in pattern.
A few notes:
*I made the handles 1 ½ inches finished therefore you need 1/3 yard for fabric and interfacing rather than ¼ yard. Cut two strips of fabric and interfacing six inches wide rather than 4 inches wide.
**The pattern calls for Pellon Decorbond 809 to be used to the entire bag which you can do. If you go with this option, you would buy the same yardage of decorbond as you do for your fabric requirements.
The shop sample has decorbond for the handles only and for a stiffer bag body I used Decovil light. If you would like this option and the larger handles buy 1/3 yard of decorbond and 1 ¼ yd of the 36-inch wide Decovil light (on the roll).
When fusing decorbond fuse from the fabric side and the interfacing is polyester and will shrink with the hot iron.
When using fusible interfacing, place the shiny side to the wrong side of your fabric use your iron to fuse, being careful not get fusible interfacing on your iron or the ironing surface.
If you have directional fabric, have the design going horizontally so be cautious when cutting your pieces.
HOMEWORK:
Have all your pieces fused and cut to size and top stitch your handles as described in the pattern. Use longer stitch length when topstitching.
